Tethered vs. Untethered Jail Breaks
If you have been doing any research on how to Jail Break you may have seen something called tethered or untethered jail breaks. Untethered jail breaks are much better than untethered in fact I avoid tethered jail breaks. So what does tethered mean? Well tethered jail break is one in which the device is not "fully" jail broken meaning that if you decide you need to turn your device off and then back on it will not turn back on in a jail broken state and you will be unable to use any jail break features unless you turn on your device while it is hooked to a computer running a jail break program. This can be an extreme handicap as sometimes it is necessary to restart your device while on the go. Untethered jail breaks however are "fully" jail broken and will restart in a jail broken state even if you do not plug it into your computer. So it is usually inadvisable to use a tethered jail break though tethered jail breaks often come out long before untethered jailbreaks it is still often better to wait for the untethered jail break to be released.
